rhythmListen up all you music lovers, 'BEAT' is in town! The newest
addition to the magazine industry, it has created the latest buzz
among everyone around. 'Beat' is the soul of every song, the groove
of every move and now it's the latest spark to enlighten your taste
and knowledge of music.
The
Entertainment Media Services took the local music a notch closer
internationally and made a significant mark in the music industry by
launching the latest magazine 'BEAT'.
Beat is
sole magazine in Sri Lanka dedicated to promoting locally grown
music.
The
launch of the magazine was graced by renowned local artists and the
organisers promised it's readers to update them with the recent song
releases, the inside stories of our locally grown musicians,
upcoming bands, events and also to act as a guide to young music
enthusiasts.
The
brainchild of this concept is a group of young men and women drawn
together in the name of music. This enthusiastic bunch does the
production of "BEAT' between them, sharing the workload in writing,
graphics, layout and marketing.
"The
idea of starting up a music magazine just occurred to me as no one
up to now had initiated this idea. So I called up Sanali, and asked
whether she wants to join me in my plan.After receiving a positive
response from her I decided to call up some of my other friends and
include them in this venture," Managing Director of 'BEAT', Shalini
said.
The
first magazine features the internationally acclaimed Bathiya and
Santhush, Misty and also 'Srimath'; which is a new group that has
joined the local music scenario in recent times. BEAT's first
edition also features the international artistes such as Aerosmith
and James Blunt. Taking the new magazine to a higher level they have
introduced a guitar guide as well while informing young musicians of
the latest instruments that has hit the market. The editors and
publishers have been very careful in preparing the magazine in a
very subtle manner so it could attract the audiences from all genres
of music and also succeeded in attracting the Sinhala and the
English readers in today's society.
Beat,
which is the first music oriented magazine to hit shops in Sri Lanka
has very successfully achieved setting up new standards in the
magazine industry as well as recognising the talent of young
musicians and give them the recognition they deserve.
Some of
the other columns that the magazine features are album reviews, the
finalists of Sirasa Super Star and an exclusive interview with its
co-creator Nilendra Deshapriya, an insight to Thriloka another
upcoming band in the local music scene and latest gossip of the
internationally acclaimed stars. The magazine is priced in an
affordable range making it easier for the younger generation to gain
access to, Beat the premiere of music magazine in Sri
